Thank you Malcom,
Honestly I don't know the sundial in S. Miniato, but the one in S.
Petronio and Bergamo are meridian lines and not so early medieval. If I do
not goes wrong the one in Padua may be the same.
I have to beg pardon because my not so good english (I learned it by
myself), and maybe I wasn't clear in my message. For early monastic
sundials, I meant mass dials, or canonical dials, or any kind of sundial
working with temporary hours. Because here in Italy, common people start to
count time with Italian hours almost about the middle of the XIV century, I
am interested in that kind of sundial (only from the XIV - XV century).
If S. Miniato is in that range, sooner or later I will go there.
thank you again
Greetings.
Mario
