The discussion on Millenial Sundials died. I think that unless we have influential members on our list we cannot hope for many investors funding special sundials because of the start of the Millenium. It is still good that sundials are being built at all and not only by private persons.
I think that sundials for the new Millenium should be set on the poles. Imagine how simple the dial and the style would be. Each of them would be working half a year. Their readings could be transmitted everywhere, this seems no big deal few years from now bearing in mind current development of communications technology. The one on the North would be a bit troublesome because it has to be set on the drifting ice so special service should be created carefully keeping it in place but besides that everything is simple - Slawek Grzechnik
