I've never been to Philly, so I'm afraid I can't be of much help, other
than suggest getting a copy of the North American Sundial Society's
_Register of Sundials in North America_. There are at least 18 dials
listed therein to be found in Philadelphia. If you can't get this
publication in time, please e-mail me and I'll make sure the relevant
information gets sent your way.

But your query reminded me of something I've long wondered: In
Alice Morse Earle's turn-of-the-century book _Sun-Dials and Roses
of Yesterday_, there are at least five images of dials from Germantown,
Pennsylvania (which I gather is a district within Philadelphia; is
this correct?).

The impression one gets from Earle's book is that, a century ago,
Germantown was the apparent sundial "capital" of the USA. Or is
it just a "selection effect," due to the convenient proximity of
these dials to the book's photographer -- or perhaps their proximity
to Mrs. Earle herself?
