Thanks for the seasons greetings. Personally I like to celebrate the solstice. This phenomenon of the sun reversing its decline and starting to return with its lifegiving warmth and light is the root of all the celebrations of light, rebirth, fertility and new year which we celebrate at this time in most northern cultures. This is very important here as it is now 32 below celsius, the sun rises just before 9AM, peaks at noon at less than 16 degrees above the horizon and sets just after 4PM.
