Roderick,

Try a hobby shop where radio control model airplanes are sold.  Such shops
usually have thin sheet brass that could easily be cut and shaped with a
fine saw and file.  You could then attach the numbers with CA glue,
(cyanoacrylate), which is also available at the same hobby shop.
