Over the past few years, several of you have asked me to send you the
original photographs of sundials posted in the Image Archive of the Stained
Glass Sundial website at

needed them for your special projects, publications and websites.
Until now, the photos in the Archive were photos to which I had added a
decorative border (like a picture frame). In some cases I had combined two
or more sundial photos within the same frame. These photos are still there,
but Dave Bell and I have now added links to ALL of the original photos that
people have sent me since we began the site. There are several hundred of
them! And it took us two weeks to do this.
I always ask people to send me the highest resolution photos that they have.
Some photos sent to me were huge files of over 1MB. The only changes I have
made to the original photos were to reduce them to an internet friendly size
of 150 dpi and 6 inches (900 pixels) in height. So these photos are very
good quality yet they are not too large for downloading with a slow modem.
Of course, in some cases, the original photos sent to me were very small and
poor so I could not fix them. If you enlarge a poor small photo, you just
get a big poor photo. But most of them are quite good. I should have done
this from the very beginning, but now it is done.
By the way, if I have neglected to give photo credits to anybody, please let
me know and we will do it.
