Fellow adventurers and admirers of dials:

I am interested in visiting Tuscany to tour and take pictures of the dials at the vineyards and cathedrals. I thought perhaps to fly into Venice and stay near Florence and rent a small villa for 2 or three weeks. My girlfriend is an academian and of Italian decent and a credit to the gourmet chefs of that heritage. So, with dials being very accommodating by only functioning during the bright day, to rent an automobile and tour whatever else there is to see.

Not being used to making such preparatory arrangements as renting a villa and automobile in Tuscany near Florence, or in fact sure that it is the wise central place, I would appreciate any advice and comments and offers from friends of the list.

Thanks
