There is also the BSS Glossary by John Davis which defines many hundreds of
terms. The current edition, which also includes a lot of historical
information such as biographies, is available from the BSS in paper form.

As for your specific query: 'equatorial' v 'equinoctial' is one of the
issues that raises a smile because there are a few (you know who you are)
who insist that the correct term is equinoctial, and there are many others
who prefer the simpler term 'equatorial'.
Yes, they are synonymous.
