There is a large monument in Ecuador that marks the exact location of the equator, so they claim.  Google Earth puts it about 780 feet south of the equator.  Any thoughts on who is more accurate:  Google Earth or the Ecuadorian surveyors?

It's location on Google Earth is Lat: -0.002166 degrees, Long: -78.455697.  If you zoom in, you can see the line which marks the equator, with a "N" above it, and a "S" below.

As an aside, I regret that I will not be albe to attend this year's Nass conference.
