Hi all,
Mike Shaw, Geoff Parsons and I of BSS are newly returned from the
NASS Conference in Vancouver where we spent a few days exploring many
interesting things before the conference began. My webmaster and old
schoolfriend Geoff Anderson entertained us for one day with an expedition
to White Rock on the coast where we found an accurate sundial in front of
the old station building on the seashore before a ceremonial dipping of
fingers in the Pacific Ocean. The dial passes all of Mike's tests for a
working sundial and appears to have been cast, complete with gnomon, in
one piece in stainless steel. We three have more detailed pictures to be
seen in due course.
Geoff (Anderson) has produced a small web page of pictures showing us
gathered around the dial and also what BSS members get up to when abroad.
Why not make a visit to a NASS Conference an excuse for a first visit to
North America?
