Hello dialists:
I thought you may like to see a large new stained
glass projection sundial installed in the roof and floor of the Montlake Public
Library in Seattle Washington. Woody Sullivan and I helped the artist, Rebecca
Cummins with the technical aspects of her design. She had seen projection
noon dials (meridianas) in Rome and had also seen projection dials on the SGS
website. So she had the neat idea of placing clear colored stained glass
in holes in the roof. The glass projects colored spots of light onto
sundial marks on the floor. This project has been three years in the
making.
