Hello Frank and all,

Although her suit may lack merit, I sympathise with the lady in Perth. I am
bushed. My sleep has been disrupted since March 7th when we were bushwhacked
by the imposition of three extra weeks of Daylight Savings Time. This change
was driven by profiteering not energy conservation. We were railroaded into
standard time in the 1880s. Daylight Savings Time was suppose to be a
temporary wartime measure. But like income tax, it has not been revoked but
continues as a government imposition. I much prefer the natural rhythms of
solar time, getting up with the sun and enjoying candlelight dinners. Give
us back that hour of light in the morning.

Regards,
Roger Bailey

Dear All,

A nice insight into Australian understanding of
the sun was reported in Monday's Daily Telegraph
here in the U.K...

  Western Australia began a daylight-saving
experiment last December ... largely to see
whether it would lead to the energy savings
  forecast by the light lobbyists.

In January one housewife in Perth tried to
sue the state government. She was seeking
compensation ... because the extra hour of
daylight would fade the pattern on her
  curtains.

Hey, wouldn't I just love to be brought in as an
expert witness in such a case? I would happily
appear for either side or, indeed, both sides!
