Conventions differ. I use + for west and - for east.
Many use that convention, however, many use it the
other war around.
Locked spreadsheets in DocsToGo happen under several
circumstances.
1. Formulae of a nature that DocsToGo cannot cope, so
it locks the spreadsheet as a protective measure
against a future hotsync. (that is my deduction based
on experience).
2. Size of the net .xls file
My spreadsheet can trigger both unless split up. The
big spreadsheet is big because of (1) the astronomical
EOT worksheet which also has many complex formulae
repeated, (2) the big spreadsheet is only many
worksheets because of the first page which links to
them with [a] conditional formatting, [b] common
geographic data that almost all sheets use.
In other words my big spreadsheet,
illustrating-shadows.xls, can be broken up with little
harm. The only programming issue being the references
back to the first page.
HOPE IN SITE: However, enough people use that big
sheet, and enough use PDAs, including me, so, I shall
try and get a PDA version for DocsToGo in the next
week or so.
