Dear Sundial Experts,

Firstly - very many thanks for all of your replies, to my original
question about creating an Analemmatic sundial at "Kentwell Hall".

It was interesting to see responses change, as time went on - from
initially saying that it was simply not possible, to some 'lateral
thinking' which could actually fulfill the design envisaged by our
Mr Phillips (though not really practical, to involve big mirrors).

Just to let all of you know, I was contacted (privately), by John
Davis - Editor of the "British Sundial Society Bulletin" - who is
local to "Kentwell Hall", and agreed to intercede with Mr Phillips
to explain that a North/South alignment was absolutely necessary.

I think that he (Mr Phillips) finally understands, that the 'Human
Sundial' feature will have to be installed in a different way to
his original layout plan - or face the 'ridicule' of our visitors.

However, he still insists on it telling winter time (GMT) in the
summer - when most people are likely to visit "Kentwell Hall", so
we will just have to explain this 'anomaly' to them. In my view,
it would have been much better to use the double-ring design from
"Modern Sunclocks" - so that it will indicate both GMT and British
Summer Time, plus automatically 'changing itself' as necessary.

With my grateful thanks again, for all your replies - and special
thanks to John Davis, for his help. I am replying to this Mailing
List (instead of directly to John Davis), since our E-mails seemed
to be 'spam-trapped' when trying to communicate between ourselves.

Yours sincerely,

Alison Shields.
