We had a conversation on this list some?time ago (10 Feb 2008)about the apparent mis-alignment of large horizontal dials when viewed on Google Earth. You can overcome this effect by using the placemark pins to establish the line of interest and then computing the declination from measurements on that line rather than reying on the GE Compass.
