Greetings, fellow dial(l)ists,
In reply to my off-topic query Andrew James wrote the following:

I always think of us as diallists rather than dialists! Perhaps I'm just plain
wrong? I believe the interval between pressing SEND and realising the
significance (or more particularly horror) of what you've done is called an
ohnosecond?

John Davis also uses "diallist", believing "dialist" is an American usage. I
began to use "dialist" long ago as that is the only spelling offered in the
Shorter Oxford 3rd edn., 1965, i.e. my own copy. But I am willing to change if
presented with good reasons. Bring them on.

Jacky Jones sums up the position of "old dialist's v. old dialists' "
precisesly. I declare a draw.

I shall treasure the ohnosecond!
