The idea of personal prime meridians is entertaining but it probably isn't very practical.

For example, if I discovered some nice island, how could I tell others where it was. My directions would be worthless to them, unless they started from where I did.

It reminds me of personal time zones, where each of us has a time zone specific to our exact location. It's possible with todays technologies, but how would we ever catch a train for example?

So for universal navigation we would all need to agree on two particular geostationary satellites. If no suitable satellites exist maybe we could put into orbit giant mirrors we could all see.
