Sunny Day!

I recently got a computer with Windows 7 Home Premium and have been trying
to get the Dialist's Companion (DC) working. It will definitely work with
DOSBox, which is free. It is possible to create a desk top icon to get DC
to initiate in a single step. The first thing to do is load DOSBox and
create a shortcut on the desk top. For some reason it was not possible, for
me anyway, to create a short cut to ``Dialist.exe``. What I did was create
a batch file I called ``dialist.bat`` as follows:

mount x c:\sundials\nass\dc

x:

dialist.exe

The first line takes you to the directory where the DC files are located.
This can be wherever you wish your DC files to reside. I saved this file in
the DC directory. The next thing is to place a copy of this file on the desk
top, close to the DOSBox icon for convenience. Do not create a short cut to
the batch file as this will not work.

To start DC just left click and hold on the ``dialist.bat`` icon and drag it
on top of the DOSBox icon until you see "Open with DOSBox DOS Emulator" and
then release the left mouse button. DC will start.
