My advice on starting a sundial business would be, don't give up your day job!
I have created a mass-produced universal adjustable equatorial sundial in plastic, and have sold about 500 of the 2000 I produced about 18 months ago. So hardly setting the world on fire... They cost me about A$11 each all up, so it was quite an investment.
