I stumbled across this. Somebody went out at night and took a time exposure of the Oro Valley Sundial. It shows the stars rotating around the North Celestial Pole which the photographer aligned closely with the polar axis gnomon rod. See: http://www.flickr.com/photos/33119087@N02/5802285382/ John C.
