A nice dial of the kind of which you speak would be about 15 or so feet wide, is fun for kids, the theory may be more involved than using a horizontal dial, with the kids standing at a point based on their height. Also the North American Sundial Society. How big would I need to make a sundial for elementary students? I have a very large area to work. Since I am learning all this too and finding the information can be a bit confusing what is the simplest way to teach children?
