The sun is where it is supposed to be. The sunrise and sunset azimuth has done
what it normally does after the summer solstice, it moves toward the equator.
And yes I have azimuth dials here, as well as altitude dials, and hour angle
dials. They are all doing as I would anticipate. In fact, two neighbors stopped
by yesterday to check them all out.

I have not heard of this urban legend, but I equate it to con trails in the sky
which some say are a government plot to poison us all, to microwave ovens
radiating food making it radioactive, and a host of other such things to worry
people.

Subject: The Sun's Azimuth

I apologize, I suppose I might clarify my question -

From some observations, it seems as though the setting sun has drifted north,
rather than south, in this approaching winter. I suppose that it is entirely
possible that the info I have found is hoaxy, but I would like to let it be
known that I am not referring to atmosphereic refraction, I am not referring to
the up-coming maxum, I am not referring to 'climate change' (I noticed it was
'global warming from 85 to 01, then climate change to 2010, now it is back to
'global warming' so whatever we're calling that thing now...)

My question is, has anyone, scientist, dialist, gnomist, astronomer, etc...
noticed the expected azimuth-declination, based upon calculations and historic
record, to be different than the observed data? Taking into account refraction,
wobble, wander, meander, any other known cycle....   Is the observed position
any different than the calculated position - by so much as a second or minute
or so?

I apologize again for the insufficient question, and I would like to point out
that the responses I have received thus far have been quite varied...

I am not a mathematician, and I have only a rudimentary understanding of Trig
and Calc...

Is the observed data incongruous with the calculated data? Does the math match
up? Does today match with the proper historic record?

Is the sun where it is expected to be?

Has anyone noticed a thing, or is it just hooplah?

Thanks guys.
