Dear sundial freaks, Can a sundial be used to see if we are in a leap year or not? Tomorrow 23 september it is the autumn equinox. My guess is that during and around the equinoxes circumstances are ideal for observing the sun position to calculate the relevant small differences during the 4 year cycle between leap years. Who has ever done this?
