Hi Roger: I remember seeing these looking out the window of an airplane, down at clouds just below the plane with the sun above. There was a little shadow of the airplane on the clouds with the halo around it like in your photos. So let it be with the Glory phenomenon, a multiple rainbow halo around your shadow projected on clouds below. The Glory is also known as the "Specter of the Brocken" and is often observed from aircraft. The remarkable feature of this phenomenon is it is personal. Each person can observe their own Glory halo around their magnified shadow. Your walking shadow can have a halo. We recently observed our Glory hiking in Madeira. Here is a link to the pictures of the remarkable hike between the island's highest mountains. The show starts and ends with pictures of the Madeira Glory. https://picasaweb.google.com/rtbailey101/MadeiraGlory?authuser=0 <https://picasaweb.google.com/rtbailey101/MadeiraGlory?authuser=0&authkey=Gv 1sRgCNio7PjTktOGSg&feat=directlink> &authkey=Gv1sRgCNio7PjTktOGSg&feat=directlink Enjoy Roger Bailey Walking Shadow Designs
