Dear Martina,
The new Bexhill sundial is further along the same promenade but about 200m
closer to the pavilion that you can see in the background of your photo.
I am not surprised that there were problems with the sundial as
illustrated. Very clear tripping possibilities.
The 'new' sundial has some very questionable features - wrong alignment?
wrong positioning of numerals etc. I visited it fairly recently but didn't
have sufficient kit with me to check it out. I plan to do so in due
course.
I installed an analemmatic at Bede's prep school, at the far western end
of the promenade at Eastbourne earlier this year. You may care to take a
look.
Best wishes,
David Brown
