Hello!

The Romanian municipality of Alba Iulia intends to establish the first
sundial trail in the country. There are 5 sundials in this historical city
plus another 2 portable ones in the local Museum.

I recently made a flyer promoting these sundials. The Mayor was very
receptive to my proposal and agreed to print 100 copies for Astronomy Day
2015 in late April and another 200 cardboard horizontal cut-out sundials.
Once the building of the touristic center finishes late this year, I hope
it will be made freely available there also in English and perhaps German.
In the mean time you can download the Romanian version here:

The cardboard sundial is here

The problem which they still have to solve is set up a few informative
signposts and bring all authorities together in order to allow free access
for tourists in two of the old city's inner courtyards.

Digi24, a national Romanian TV broadcaster, filmed this sundial report
during Astronomy Day 2015 (please check CC button for an English
translation). Alas, as it was late afternoon, the only two working sundials
were non-operational. Thankfully the cardboard sundials were! :)

I will also post this proposed sundial trail on Sundial Atlas in the
following days so I hope you will visit beautiful Alba Iulia someday! ;)
