Dear sundial friends!
The winners are:
Amateur section:
The first prize was awarded to Milos Nosek (Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic) for his stylistic merits and gnomonic quadrant polar pyramid ,7 meter size base, and the dial on the west face of the same pyramid, located in Maly Smokovec (Slovakia) , at the foot of the High Tatras .
The second prize was awarded to Giorgio Brechet (Rome, Italy) for the care and the appearance of his dial on a stainless steel plate placed on a granite millstone olive oil . The complex is equipped with a LED system , powered by a solar panel for night vision gnomonic functions .
The third prize was awarded to Giacomo Bonzani (Villette , Verbania, Italy) for the original application of the solar instrument and for its in reflection , called " train sundial , it works as train timepiece distance on the line Domodossola-Locarno .
For the category of professionals, the committee considered worthy Giuseppe Litta (Carosino , Taranto, Italy) by the number of accurate achievements and the student engagement and, in particular , for his transparency dial in the window of the Chapel cemetery.
