Dear members,
Finally the second volume of the series “Tempus et Regula”, dedicated to the
census and study of the medieval sundials in Italy has been published.
The volume lists more than 55 medieval sundials found till now in Sardinia
isle. For every sundial is devoted a tecnical and historical record, but to
those more interesting has been reserved a study in a part of the book. This
volume, as all that are part of the serie “Tempus et Regula”, want to be a
useful histrument for the study and care of the Italian medieval gnomonic
patrimony. To save them from bad restoration, to save the medieval “scientific”
withness that some stones eroded by the passing of time are still able to let
us know.
A simple language, but rigorous, makes the book easy for all the sundial
enthusiasts and for interested in ancient science.
The book is in Italian language and for this reason I have not asked for
international distribution. Nevertheless if a certain number of people from
outside Italy are interested in it, I could think to ask for that.
