Dear Ian and dear All,
In November 2005 I wrote an article published on my website nicolaseverino.it
in which for the first time took into consideration, at least in Italian, the
few and rare information that circulated about the possible interest in
gnomonics of Isaac Newton. The sundial in the video presented by Ian Maddocks
was described in a letter that Charles Turner presented to the Royal Society of
London, read on June 13, 1844 and then published in the Philosophical
Transactions. You can read my article at the following link:

Ogg: Isaac Newton sundial, Objectivity YouTube video

Hi all
For those of you who haven't yet come across the Objectivity YouTube channel...
it's devoted to showing interesting scientific things from the Royal Society
in London. The latest video includes a sundial made by Isaac Newton (once you
get past the watch)

Best wishes
