Dear All, I endorse Gianni Ferrari's comments about the shop in Trastevere. I have visited it several times and it is quite unlike any other shop that I have ever been in. The owner has a quite extraordinary selection of fascinating items for sale.
There is a (small) market for reproduction diptychs. Many years ago in East Berlin I bought a nice reproduction David Beringer diptych. The leaflet inside explained that it was a copy and where the original was. The most astonishing thing was its price. There was certainly no attempt to pretend that this was a genuine Beringer diptych and I paid one EAST German mark! I think I was given a discount but I can't remember why! Frank H.
