Dear Sara,Thanks for information on this rare sundial. The other example by this
maker is in the collection of Przypkowski Museum in Jędrzejów in Poland -
inventory number MPJ/A/495/1-2.It is an augsburg type dial with a wooden box,
which looks to be original. The latitude arc, hour arc and plumb bob of the
dial are missing. In the Museum's catalogue description the dial is dated as
early 19th century, but based on the compass form and overall appearance I
think that it is earlier - rather mid. 18th century. The Dobromil is a
small town in the Lwow voivodship of todays
Ukraine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DobromylUnfortunately no further
details on the maker are known to me.Regards,Maciej LoseOd: "Schechner, Sara"

sundial maker G. I. Turasiewicz w Dobromilu
Dear Friends, especially those in Poland.

Harvard has an Augsburg-type sundial signed “G. I. Turasiewicz w
Dobromilu.”  I would like to know more about this maker.  If you know
his full name, dates, and so forth, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Sara
