Thanks. I found the SUNWfns packages on a friend’s jumpstart server and installed them (that part worked as you indicated) – I just didn’t have a sparc version of Solaris 9 with me.

I am running s10_54 from Sun Express, with SRSS 2.0 and I must admit it’s not going smoothly. I have the sunray’s setup running on Solaris 9 and that was tricky too initially as 9 had just come out then, so I was in the same position (using a prior release on later OS). But I agree with you that once it works, it’s pretty stable – i.e. I have never needed to touch my Sol9 config ever again – added clients without a problem etc.

For this go around, I am almost ready to uninstall and try again as I think in fidgeting before I broke something. At the moment the SUNRay “connects” (stops searching) but is not receiving a desktop session (just a blank screen with little lizard cursor). The server side says the ray is connected (units connected = 1, shows up in desktops, is reporting model SunRayP2 – fw 1.3_12c etc).

In auditing I found that I don’t have any pseudo devices created. Not just the link to /dev/sunray as pointed out in an earlier post, but the actual “/devices/pseudo/sunray at 0:” etc. I found this when I tried to start a session manually. Hence a re-install may be what’s needed – I am not sure how to re-create just the devices part.

Doom.
