I have LDAP server running, but don't know where to start from, you can help me as you have done it already.

I think it should work as for normal users: did you setup a directory server with all accounts and instructed solaris/linux to get users and groups from that server? I did try some months ago an installation on a linux machine using ldap via pam for user authentication and it worked out of the box.
