Premature [send] click. Argh!

Do you mean 2.6 is buggy in general or with respect to SRSS
specifically, because I've found 2.6 to be very solid so far.

I've found that 2.4 kernel packages are available for Ubuntu so I'm
going to give them a try now.

Sure thing; I had meant to with the first e-mail.

I see: The sun logo in the top left. A box with a cross through it is my
cursor. In the centre of the screen (though it moves like a screensaver
after a few seconds) I see three distinct sections of information. The
top has a little pic of SunRay 1G and the MAC and IP (as dished from
DHCP on a different machine to my SRSS box). Below this is an hourglass
icon and "100 F" which I assume means 100MB/Full Duplex (am I right?)
Below this is a computer-looking icon, and the IP of my SRSS server. In
the bottom right it says "26 D"

If I pull out the network cable, the "26 D" changes to "23 D" and the
centre icon changes to show a broken network link.

I'm assuming the 20 numbers indicate an error code? I should try and
find more information about this, though this really began as a simple
"I wonder if this will 'just work' like the rest of Ubuntu" :) I thought
a quick ping to the mailing list would give a yay or nay response in
terms of did people have experience with Ubuntu and SunRay's.
