I have a problem connecting USB printers to SunRays using the CUPS
printing system on Solaris 9/SRSS3.

I followed the descriptions I found in
<http://www.met.rdg.ac.uk/~swsellis/system/sunray/sunray_usb_printer.html>
and
<http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/csj/20050114>

I tried the CUPS package from Blastwave, the package from the SUN freeware
CD (SFW) and a self-compiled version, I also tried both variants defining
the printer in in cups/printers.conf:

   DeviceURI
serial:/tmp/SUNWut/units/IEEE802.0003ba5c4e74/dev/printers/HewLett_Packard00FRHRD62129

and
   DeviceURI usb:/tmp/SUNWut/units/....

with a HP Laserjet 2200 and a Laserjet 2300.

The result is always the same:
after submitting a print job, the data light of the printer starts blinking
and never stops. After submitting a second job, the first job gets printed
immediately and so on - it needs always a new job to get the previous one
printed.
So it seems to me that some "End of data" signal is missing or the USB channel
is not closed in the right way.

Has someone experienced similar problems or some ideas what to try next?

Many thanks,
Meik
