Disclaimer: I know Ubuntu's not supported... but it works :) I plugged a second SunRay into my home network this morning and it booted and showed the following steps.
A large hourglass logo, with one bar underneath. The same, with a second bar. A logo with a server on the left and a yellow arrow pointing to a SunRay on the right. A logo the same as above, with the arrow pointing from SunRay to server, and with an exclaimation point wrapped in a yellow circle. The hourglass logo with three bars. The SunRay didn't go past this. My thoughts are that the SunRay cannot retrieve the firmware from the TFTP server, as that's what the icons described to me. Am I right? My other SunRay was upgraded (formware) 4 or 5 months ago when I played with this setup on Debian, so I believe it has the current firmware already. Is there anything I need to watch for when running the TFTP server on Linux? -- Thanks, Matthew Lambie Technical Director THE FRONTIER GROUP, PTY. LTD.
