Hello Stoyan,

Thanks, but there are still some things unclear since I need to use port forwarding. I can only set forwarding port ranges (lowest port : higest port) on the router.
So what is the higest port number to set in the 30000 range? (30000:?????)
The udp 7009 port seems to be only used between the servers and not between the server and the sunray so there is no need to forward it if the sunrays are on the other side of the router. I also don't quite understand the last sentence: "The firmware download uses a Sun Ray client port at, or above, 4096" How does the firmware upgrade procedure work? I though it used tftp port 69 to do it.
Does the Sunray or the server initiates the download on port 4096?
Maybe someone can clear things up for me?

Thanks,
Ivar Janmaat

Dear Colin,

Have you already found some answers to your Solaris questions you posted on the Sunray mailing list in Januari?
I want to make my Sunray server accessible from Sunrays on the internet.
But I would like to close all ports which can be closed.
Do you have gathered any information on what can and can not be closed?
