Hi folks. This is a weird one.

I have a device (electronic test equipment) that sits on a network and opens a GUI via X11 to a selected host. Trouble is, it doesn't seem capable of using an arbitrary display number...only :0, and I'd really like to use it from one of my Sun Ray DTUs...specifically, the one that's currently :4.0, the one in my lab.

The chances of getting a firmware update for this device is pretty slim, as it's been discontinued for some time now. Can anyone think of a way that I might cause my Sun Ray server machine to accept connections for display :0 (port 6000) and send them along to a DTU?

If all else fails, I suppose I could write a little data shuffler that accepts TCP connections on port 6000 and passes them across to 6000+[DTU display number] and vice-versa, but if there's an easier way to do this I'd prefer it.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

                -Dave
