Hi Fitra
To make scanners work with Solaris, the open source libusb libraries are
required. These have been available and supported since Sun Ray Server
Software 3.0. They are now part of Solaris 10 and are fully supported
by Sun.
To get scanners working however, you need to use open source software
such as SANE - http://www.sane-project.org/ and XSane -
http://www.xsane.org/.
Sun do not officially support SANE, or any particular brand of scanner,
although various models are known to work. Any support would be on a
'best effort' basis via informal channels to Sun. That might change if
a particular scanner company (Epson for example) decided to support
their scanners with Solaris and Sun Ray.
I know of some Sun people who have Sun Ray setups at home and who use
scanners.
Good luck - let us know how you get on!

Guys,
Have you had any experience on usb scanner directly connect to SunRay
1G? Is there any compatibility issue?
Is there any network issue on it? I assume that we need quite extra
bandwith for transporting images from DTU(scanner) to SunRay server then
need to be displayed on DTU again (monitor), am i correct?
I plan to use 1G DTU, SRSS 3.1 on Solaris X86 (V65 server). For scanner,
have no information yet from user, but it could be F5531Amigo (if i'm
not mistaken).
Any suggestion, comment, statement or even links to read will be
appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
Cheers,
Fitra
