Hi, I have to give a demo on Friday to some IT people to show off the capabilities of Sun Rays. The point of the demo is to show how the rays have commerical potential to varying business sectors. I have a few ideas mainly to do with smartcard sessions and cam mode but was wondering if the group had any good tips given the parts list below that could impress. My demo kit consists of:-
1 * sun ray server running SRS3.1 and Sol10x86 1 * windows server accessibe via rdesktop 3 * dtus 3 * smartcards (but could configure more) cards configured as 1)browser only, 2)full windows, 3)hybrid jds o/s and windows apps in menu The sorts of thing I had in mind are:- * on dtu 1 work through combinations of cards to show 3 modes above. Browser only mode to demonstrate suitability for locked down public access, full windows to show off seamless windows appearance to end users, hybrid mode to show that the two variants can be run combined, obviously pointing out that one of the operating systems is superior * start up browser on dtu 1, play some sound pull the card and insert in dtu2 to hear sound continue on second station (demonstrates mobility - useful in a hospital / college / factory environment where workers on the move and want quick access) * pull the power on the dtu playing sound and re-insert to hear sound continue (this is a bit similar to last but shows resiliancy due to non moving parts and general speed of recovery) * insert usb device to show media recognised ( I guess to show that it's workstation like) Actually, that's about the extent of my demo so far which is supposed to last 30 mins. If the list is thought to be exhaustive, suggestions for any card tricks would be appreciated Thanks Paul _______________________________________________ SunRay-Users mailing list [email protected] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users
