Craig, can you explain what is involved in getting x112vnc to talk to a SunRay
session.

I'm not Craig, but in the past I just run x11vnc
in the Sun Ray session, then you can run any
vncviewer to connect to it. There are some
tips/tricks to reduce load on the Sun Ray server
(by default, x11vnc does a lot of polling) here:
http://www.karlrunge.com/x11vnc/

Some pros and cons:

Pros:
You can set it up so that the session can
only be controlled by the owner, or by default
it is "collaborative" so anybody can move mouse
or type.
You can set it up so multiple viewers can participate.

Cons:
It doesn't work with Sun Ray sessions which are
screen locked, if pam_sunray.so is on the PAM
stack. If you don't use Non-SmartCard
Mobility policy, and you don't use smartcards or
biometrics for authenticating to your screen lock
program, you can fix this by editing /etc/pam.conf
and comment out all lines mentioning
pam_sunray.so. If you do this and you use Non-SmartCard
Mobility, or smartcard or biometrics, you'll have to
authenticate twice to access an existing session
(once to SRSS, and then again to your screen lock
program), and the session won't automatically
disconnect/detach when the screen locks (you can
use control-moon to power cycle the unit to get to
an SRSS greeter in order to log in as a different
user, or simply Shift-Pause before walking away to
detach your session, instead of locking the
screen).
