I think the answer to this will have to wait until after the
official announcement, but it's fair to say that if a Sun Ray
has more capability it will probably be exploited in a future
release.
The only guarantee made is that existing SRs will continue
to behave at least as well as they do today, indefinitely into
the future. There's no way to guarantee future feature
compatibility (unless we just stop introducing new
features, which probably makes nobody happy :-).

Will the SR2 allow some unannounced future feature to be implemented? Or will
the future features run just fine on our existing SR1 and SR1G machines?

Yes... its a MUCH faster processor. It's also not SPARC. I don't
the details of the GPU. It's certainly different from the SR1G.
(slightly less resolution in the 2 and much higher resolution in
the 2FS)
You're saying that the SR 2 unit is slower that the 1G in your SRSS
3.0 environment?

Hey,
Is there a faster SPARC processor in the Sun Ray 2 (compared to the
1G) and if so why would it run slower in SRSS 3.0 (which my company is
running). Did they upgrade the GPU in the Sun Ray 2 also?
Thanks,
Jason
