No authd is not responding at all on 7010. Not even after a reboot. It looks like something persistent has been corrupted. Any suggestions on how to debug this authd problem?
Start by looking at /var/opt/SUNWut/log/auth_log, and then at the recent entries in the other logfiles in the same directory. Does 'ps' show a utauthd process running? (Because it's a Java process it'll actually show up in 'ps' output as something like 'java ...utauthd ...'.) If it isn't there then one obvious thing to check is that the symlink that points to the JRE that SRSS is supposed to use is still valid. Run '/etc/opt/SUNWut/jre/bin/java -version'. Have you tried running 'utrestart -c' ? If that works then perhaps the problem is related to the rc scripts that are supposed to launch SRSS at boot time. What changes have been made to this machine since the last time it was rebooted? Have patches been applied, or networking reconfigured? OtoM. __ ottomeister Disclaimer: These are my opinions.
