'utquery' should always show the MTU unless the DTU is
running ancient firmware. What does the output say?
utquery doesn't show the MTU value if the MTU value received from
DHCP is
invalid like value is more than 1500 and in that cases DTU fallback
to use the
default MTU value i.e 1500.
BTW, what is the value of MTU are u sending through DHCP?

If the MTU really isn't there then you might be able to find it in
/var/opt/SUNWut/messages on the server that is controlling the
DTU. 'grep' in that file for the IP or MAC address of the DTU and
look for an MTU=nnnn attribute in the output. However, if the
DTU isn't reporting an MTU size to 'utquery' then it's unlikely
that it's reporting one to authd either.
It reports as 1500 in the messages file.
We snooped the server and say it was being sent as option 26, but
the client seems to be ignoring it.
