It may work if Controlled_Access_Mode_3.0 name changed to Controlled_Access_Mode_3.1
in Image directory manually.
However as pointed by others it's not supported on Solaris and recommended to use
SRSS3.1 + latest patch on Solaris.

Thanks

I have attempted to install Sun Ray Core Services 3.1.1 but the Controlled Access Mode fails to install.

Hardware: v20z

OS: Solaris 10 1/06 with Recommended patch cluster

Location: /Addons/SunRay/SRSS-3.1.1/srss_3.1.1

First I copied /usr/j2se to /usr/j2se.orig because utinstall will overwrite it.

I then ran ./utinstall

My answers to the questions were . . .

I’ve looked in the log file and it tells me the same thing as above. I then manually installed the CAM packages included in “Controlled_Access_Mode_3.0/Solaris_10+/i386/Packages” named . . .

The “pkgadd –d . *” command worked except for the SUNWbbchr package postinstall script error . . .

## Executing postinstall script.

/opt/SUNWbb/bin/bbinstfinish[11]: /etc/blackbox.rc: not found

/etc/init.d/bbinit: /etc/blackbox.rc: not found

pkgadd: ERROR: postinstall script did not complete successfully

Installation of <SUNWbbchr> failed.

I searched for the missing file named blackbox.rc and found it here “/etc/opt/SUNWbb/blackbox.rc”. I copied the file to /etc and then did a pkgadd of SUNWbbchr and it installed successfully.

I then ran utconfig without failover and keeping the defaults. Connecting to the Web Admin on port 1660 and selecting the Controlled Access Mode I get a message instructing me to configure this mode by running utconfig. So I ran utconfig –u to unconfigure SunRay and ran utconfig again but there is no CAM questions presented to me.

I then rebooted and still nothing . . .

I then utconfig –u and utinstall –u and the uninstalls worked fine, I guess.

I then rebooted and reinstalled the software by executing utinstall. At this point another problem occurred . . .

It appears the uninstall does not return the /usr/j2se directory the way it found it. It appears that the utinstall overwrites part of the j2se directory with some version prior to 1.4. This was easy enough to rectify as I had made a copy of /usr/j2se directory.

So I reinstalled using utinstall and the whole thing starts over again.

Any thoughts on how to get CAM installed?
