Hello List,

I have proposed the following solutions for configuring MTU size for Sun Ray connections in my service request:

1. Sun can adds a "Max MTU size" option to auth.props
2. Sun fixes RFE/bug 6457500 so we can use *.parms files to set Max MTU size. 3. Sun makes new firmware with which we can set the MTU size options on the Sun Ray manually. 4. Sun develops something called MTU discovery between Sun Ray Server and Sun Ray

We would prefer options 1 or 2 since this is probably fastest to implement and will be sufficient for our needs.
For the future we think option 4 will be great.
Option 3 we don't like since we want the Sun Ray as stateless as possible.

The important questions is: Which one can be done quickly?

Kind regards,

Ivar

Hello Otto,

I have submitted a request for setting MTU size on the server or an automatic MTU size solution.
The request number is: 37680712
At this time VPN and Sun Rays are not a good match if DHCP is the only option for setting MTU size.
A lot of Small Business routers can not set this option.
We would like it if we could just deploy Sun Rays any where with VPN without worrying about the DHCP settings on every location.
Please have a look at the service request.
I have also contacted Roger Keys of Sun about the challenges we have to address.

Kind regards,

Ivar

I was wondering if there is a website where I can fill out a Sunray
Request For Enhancement.

I think you can do that through SunSolve,
<http://sunsolve.sun.com/>, provided that you have a
support account. Or you can do it through whatever
channel you would have used to report a bug. RFEs
and bug reports all go through the same process and
get logged in the same "Change Request" database.
