Hi gang,

This is relevant to some recent threads.
Some brave soul may wish to try it.

I would think the result would be
extremely ugly on a 2FS dual monitor
setup (unless you want to stack them
vertically ;-), but might be acceptable on a
true 2x1 multihead utilizing two Sun Rays.

Is Sun Ray capable of driving monitors rotated through 90 degrees?

It's not pretty, and I sure wouldn't want to sell it as a solution as
is, but I've got a xterm running rotated 90 degrees on my monitor right
now, using Xephyr, an Xnest-like X server that supports rotation. (The
difference between Xnest & Xephyr is that Xnest passes all drawing through
to the real X server, while Xephyr renders to it's own virtual framebuffer
that it then pushes to the underlying X server, so it can apply
transformations like rotation or support extensions like Render that the
underlying server does not).

It's the sort of thing that could become at least a temporary solution
quickly given some effort from Professional Services or whatever they're
called now.
