Hello,
nearly a year ago i asked for a solution to run the custom resolution
1680x1050 (Dell Widescreen Displays 2005FPW) on a Sunray-1G. I got the
following reply from Ottomeister (again thank you very much):

utresdef -a -c "Dell 2005FPW" 1680x1050 at 60d 1680x1050 <<EOF
  htotal=2256
  hfp=104
  hsyncwidth=184
  vtotal=1087
  vfp=1
  vsyncwidth=3
  vcomposite=8
  pixclock=14714
  xres=1680
  yres=1050
  hz=60
EOF

In addition i use the following script to associate the resolution to a
particular sunray/card.

#!/bin/sh
# Scriptname: changeres
#
# Usage: As root !
# [EMAIL PROTECTED] [global]:/home/chr > utwho -c
#  7.0 user.1158749271-7053             chr      192.168.131.190 P7.0003ba8679f8
#
# Example: change settings for user chr
# [EMAIL PROTECTED] [global]:/root > ./changeres IEEE802.0003ba8679f8
user.1158749271-7053
# cid=IEEE802.0003ba8679f8 token=user.1158749271-7053: Object not found
# IEEE802.0003ba8679f8  user.1158749271-7053            --     [EMAIL PROTECTED]
# Xconfig record added/changed.

DESKTOPID=$1
RAYTOKEN=$2

[EMAIL PROTECTED]
RES=1680x1050

# utdesktop -L -c
utresadm -d -c $DESKTOPID -t $RAYTOKEN
utresadm -a -c $DESKTOPID -t $RAYTOKEN $RESNAME
utxconfig -r $RES -t $RAYTOKEN
/opt/SUNWut/lib/utresexec -k -c $DESKTOPID -t $RAYTOKEN
<end of changeres>

This works great for the Dell Widescreens Displays and the Sunray-1G.

Today:
Now we evaluate the Sunray-2-Devices. I've already learned that the normal
Sunray-2
only supports 1600 Pixel in x-resolution, so the above solution does'nt work
with
these devices. That is really bad, because you can't buy Sunray 1G anymore.
So compared with the resolution-capabilities of the Sunray-1G the Sunray-2 is a
step back.

Now we bought the Sunray-2FS which should be able to run more than 1600
horizontal pixels.
The above solution again works for one display.
Now my question:
If i want to run two displays (xinerama) and do nothing (default-settings) i
got the two
displays working with 1280x1024. That looks bad. We want the native resolution
1680x1050.
The above solution don't work. The second display stays dark and the first
display
runs in 1680x1050. I think it has something to do with the 'utxconfig -r'
setting.
utxonfig -r auto don't work either and it is not possible to run utxconfig -r
3360x1050.

utxconfig -r 3360x1050
utxconfig: invalid width specification 3360
utxconfig: Update failed.
zsh: 7701 exit 1     utxconfig -r 3360x1050

We're running the sunray-server on sparc version: 3.1_32,REV=2005.08.24.08.55
/tftpboot/CoronaP1-3.1_32,REV=2005.08.24.08.55
/tftpboot/CoronaP2-3.1_32,REV=2005.08.24.08.55
/tftpboot/CoronaP3-3.1_32,REV=2005.08.24.08.55
/tftpboot/CoronaP4-3.1_32,REV=2005.08.24.08.55

/tftpboot/CoronaP7-3.1_32,REV=2005.08.24.08.55

Do you have any suggestions or hints?
Christian
