This works very well, especially if you connect a PostScript-capable
printer. I've been using an old DTU connected to a Lexmark Optra e312
(a cheap PostScript laser printer) on a Solaris print queue for a few
years now.

But it's also unnecessary.  If you have a print queue, it doesn't matter
if somebody is logged in or not, you can print to it.
