Yes, and you can cycle one to test it out. You should see parms values in your utquery output along with tftpSrvr
which should match your entry for DHCP option 66.

email is messing up the format but you should also have underscoreNONEunderscore i.e. _NONE_ for version on the P8's, at least until we release FW for the Sun Ray 2's.

OK, that was the point. It was not readable by everyone but only by root.
As I understood it, the sunrays will read this file next time they cycle and
get to know all my servers then.
That's just great!

Thank you all for your help!
Best regards,

Knut

Sun Ray 2's.

Did you create SunRayP8.parms with

servers=<IP's>
select=random
version=_NONE_

Make sure everyone can read it.

No, but you have to tell the Sun Rays to use the parms file.

If you are just doing sunray-servers in dns, that's akin to using option 49 in DHCP. It won't use the parms files. You need to either use option 66 or sunray-config-servers in dns.

Send us utquery -d <ip of a connected DTU>

To be honest, I don't understand exactly what I have to do to set up my
parms files.
I read http://blogs.sun.com/ThinkThin/entry/sun_ray_provisioning
and created a parms file with servers=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx,yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy and
select=random. Do I now have to use utfwadm to publish this information
to
the DTUs?

what is the output of /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utgstatus on each of the FOG

Which DNS name are you using?
If you use sunray-config-servers, and properly set up your parms files, this initial connection should be balanced.

We have the following situation:

A FOG on two X4200 running on CentOS (now it works...) in location A,
some
Sunrays in location B. The Sunray get their IP address from the local
DHCP
server. The local DNS publishes the IP address of the primary server of
the
FOG. What I saw is, that the secondary server is never used. Is this
due
to
the fact that the Sunray gets the IP of the primary (typo was primray)
server only? Did we misconfigure the FOG?

Thank you in advance,

Knut
